I’m fortunate to work from home. I sit here, in my sunny yellow home office, and sometimes, I miss having co-workers. I miss the camaraderie. I miss chats in the kitchen. I miss having someone to share incredulous looks with after the boss says something… irrational.

Then the cat stretches and purrs and I remember why I love working from home so much.

That I get to work on the couch, in my sweats, is pure bonus.

Whenever I feel lonely, I look over, and there is a sweet little face reminding me that I’m not as alone as I thought.

Sometimes they even help me work.

And sometimes they tell me when it’s time to knock off for the night.

It’s all too easy, in a day filled with emails, with phone calls, with deadlines, and with urgent fires always needing to be put out, to forget to stop and notice our surroundings. It’s so easy to grab my phone and snap a picture. Sometimes I share them online, sometimes I keep them in my phone, but always they bring a smile to my face. These photos are little glimpses of happiness in the middle of the day to day chaos that is life.

Do you take time to capture your unconventional co-workers?
