How will my SimplePrints photo book be shipped and when will I receive it?

Once your photo book has been printed we will send it to you via USPS First Class mail, which generally takes 5-7 business days for recipients within the United States. International shipments may take up to 2-3 weeks to ship due to possible delays in customs. Recipients in Canada and the EU usually receive their books within 10 business days.

There’s a red exclamation mark on my photos in my SimplePrints book – what does that mean?

A red exclamation mark on your photos indicates that the photo may be blurry or may be too small to produce a high resolution print. While our blurry image detector is not 100% accurate and we can still print your book even with blurry photos if you prefer, we do recommend checking these photos on a computer or another device with a larger screen so you may get a better idea of how they’ll appear when printed. If you’re still not sure, feel free to contact our support team at hello@getsimpleprints.com for help – we’re always happy to check your book if you’re not certain about a photo.

I’m having issues with the app/unable to upload or edit photos/other technical problems.

Most issues encountered while using SimplePrints can be solved by following these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check your internet connection. A bad or weak connection is often the cause when having trouble uploading photos and may result in missing pages in your book.
  2. Make sure you are using the most recent version of SimplePrints. Check for updates in the App Store or on Google Play if you’re running into errors or glitches. You can find these at the following links:

Making Your Book

How do I make a new SimplePrints album?

Using our app to make your book is super simple! Just go to your ‘My Albums’ page on the app and tap on the blue “Create New Book” button at the bottom of the page to start a new album.

How do I save an album I’m working on? Can I return to a book to keep editing later?

We save all your albums on our server indefinitely so you may always come back and work on your book whenever it’s convenient for you. Our app automatically saves your progress in the background so there’s no need to manually save your work.

How do I add photos / blank pages / add a new blank row?

To add a new photo to your book, simply tap on a blank page in your album. You may then select the photos you want from their location or folder. You may add a blank page in the middle of your book by tapping the small ‘+’ symbol between each page. If you need to add a new row of blank pages at the end of your album, you may do so by scrolling to the bottom of the book layout page and tapping on the Add Row button to add a new row of blank pages.

How do I delete a photo / delete a blank page?

To remove a photo from a page, tap on the page and select the option to Remove. If you don’t want to add a different photo to the resulting blank page, you may tap on the “X” in the corner to remove it from your album.

How to rearrange photos?

You may rearrange photos by holding your finger down on the page you want to move, then drag the page from one position in the app to another. The other pages will all move either forward or backward in your book to make room for the repositioned page.

How to rotate a photo?

It’s easy to rotate your photos in SimplePrints! To rotate a photo 90 degrees, tap on the page and select the option to Edit Page. In the photo editor, tap on the photo and select the option to rotate photo. Repeat until your photo is oriented correctly and tap Done to save.

All my photos are on my computer, how do I add them to my SimplePrints book?

Additionally, for iOS devices, if you upload your images to your iCloud account, you can access them in the app. For Android devices, if you upload your images to your Google Photos account, you can access them in the app.

What size photos should I use?

For 8×8 Inch Books:  We recommend using photos that are 2500 x 2500 pixels in size to get the best resolution. Photos that are larger than this will not necessarily increase print resolution and may take longer to upload to our server. You can still get acceptable prints from smaller photos, especially if they are in Fit to Page format or in a collage, but we do not recommend using photos smaller than 500 x 500 pixels. Photos smaller than this size may result in low resolution, pixelated, or distorted prints in your book.

For 12×12 Inch Books (iOS Only):  We recommend using photos that are 3000 x 3000 pixels in size to get the best resolution. Photos that are larger than this will not necessarily increase print resolution and may take longer to upload to our server. You can still get acceptable prints from smaller photos, especially if they are in Fit to Page format or in a collage, but we do not recommend using photos smaller than 750 x 750 pixels. What can I do to fix or prevent blurry or low resolution images in my book?

In general, you can take sharper photos by taking photos in bright, natural light, steadying your camera against a stable surface or using a tripod, cleaning your lens before you start taking photos, and remembering to lock focus on your subject before taking the photo.

We recommend you upload photos that are at least 750 x 750 pixels to avoid low resolution prints in your book. If your photos are smaller than this, adding them to a collage may increase the print resolution by reducing the amount they need to be enlarged on the page.

Can I use screenshots? How do I save photos from Facebook or the web?

While you may use screenshots in your book, we highly recommend against this practice. When you take a screenshot of an image you not only capture the photo, but anything else that was visible on the screen as well. This often means ugly black bars, toolbars, captions, social media icons/headers, or even loading symbols may also be visible on your photos and get printed into your book. Additionally, screenshots usually result in a much lower resolution print than you would have achieved if you’d uploaded the original image file.

Instead, we recommend you save photos from Facebook or the web to your device. Most photos can be saved by tapping and holding down on the image until a menu pops up. If you are allowed to save the image, there will be an option in that menu you may tap to save the image.

This image is important to me, will you print it anyways?

While we want your book to be perfect and have the highest quality photos, we know that most of our customers are not professional photographers and sometimes the memories associated with a photo are more important than its quality. We’re happy to print your photos as-is if you prefer, no matter the quality of the image – just let us know!

How do I add captions to my SimplePrints photo book?

To add captions to your photos simply tap on a photo that you have added to your book and select the option to “Add Caption”.

How do I add cover text?

To add cover text to your book, simply tap on your cover image and select the option to Add Cover Text. You may then enter your cover text and adjust the font, text size, or position. When you’re finished, tap Done to save!

Can I add more than one photo to a single page in my SimplePrints album?

Yes, simply tap on a photo that you have added and select the “Edit Page” option to access our collage tool. After you pick the format for your collage you may add a photo in one of two ways:

  • Tap on an empty space in your collage to upload a new photo, or
  • Tap on the Photos button to load a carousel menu of all the photos you’ve already added to your book and then drag the photo you want to use into your collage. After you save your collage, you will be given the opportunity to delete the duplicate photos from elsewhere in your book.

How can I change a Fit to Page photo to a Full Page photo?

To change your photo from Fit to Page format to Full Page, simply tap on the page in your book and select the Edit Page option to open the collage editor. From there, you can tap on the square format at the bottom of the screen to change to a Full Page format. You may then crop and adjust your photo however you like. Make sure that you recrop the image to make sure the faces are in the frame still. When you’re finished, tap Done to save.

How can I share a digital copy of my book or preview my book from a computer?

You can share a digital copy of your book for free with anyone by email or Facebook. You can also use this method to preview your book from your computer or another device – just email the link to yourself!

On iOS:  Simply go to your ‘My Albums’ page, then tap on the Preview button on the album you want to send, then tap the Share button, then select how you want to share it, and complete the steps that follow.

On Android:  Simply go to your ‘My Albums’ page, then tap the three small dots next to the album you want to share, then tap the Share button, then select how you want to share it, and complete the steps that follow.

Who can view my digital preview link?

Only those people who you choose to share the link with may view your book. We never share any of your books or information without your permission or direct action.

How do I delete an album?

When you’re done with a book, you can remove it from the app at any time. We’ll save a copy on our servers for you and can restore it for you at a later date if you want to return to it.

On iOS:  Simply return to the ‘My Albums’ page, find the album you want to delete, then tap the small ‘X’ to the right of that album.

On Android:  Simply return to the ‘My Albums’ page, find the album you want to delete, then tap the three dots on the album and select the option to delete the album.


Purchasing Your Book

How do I place an order for my book?

After you’ve finished creating your album, we recommend taking a moment to review your album to make sure everything looks the way you want it to. When you think it’s ready, tap Next at the bottom of the screen. On the next page, you may select either 12×12 Inch Hardcover (iOS only), 8×8 Inch Hardcover, or 8×8 Inch Softcover, as well as add spine text to either hardcover books. Once you’ve selected the cover type, the next screen will be the checkout page. Here, you may add a recipient, adjust quantity, choose a shipping method, and enter your payment details. A breakdown of your total cost will also be displayed on this page. Once you’ve entered all the information, tap Place Order to submit payment and complete your purchase. We’ll send you a confirmation email to your registered email address with all your order information. Please take a moment to review your shipping address and the preview link in the email we send. If you notice any mistakes or need to make a last minute change, you can contact us at hello@getsimpleprints.com within 2 hours after your order was placed to request an update.

What size are SimplePrints photo books? How are they made?

Our books are produced using high quality, professional grade materials. Every one of our books are backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. We currently only sell 8×8 inch (both iOS & Android) and 12×12 inch books (iOS only), however, we are looking into offering other sizes in the future. Stay tuned!

How do I add spine text to my hardcover book?

Adding spine text is easy! After you finish your book, tap Next to reach the cover selection page. Just above the button to select either of the hardcover options you will find a link to ‘Add Spine Text’ to your book. (Spine text is not available for softcover books.)

How do I select a softcover book?

Depending on the size of your screen, you may need to scroll down past the hardcover options in order to select a softcover book from the cover selection screen during checkout.

How do I change quantity?

During checkout, you may change the quantity of your order after you enter a recipient. Tap Add Recipient on the checkout page, enter the name and address, and then tap Save. After you save the recipient, you may tap the “+” and “-” buttons to the right of the recipient’s name to add or subtract books from your order.

Where can I find the status of my book?

After placing an order, return to the ‘My Albums’ page in the app. Below your book, you will find a Status button – this is where you may find your order status, price breakdown, shipping address, and other pertinent information concerning your photo book order. On Android, you will need to tap the three dots next to your album to reach the status page. My book status still says it’s pending after 24 hours?

If after 24 hours your book’s status has not updated from Pending to Printing, please contact our support team at hello@getsimpleprints.com as soon as possible. There may be a problem with your album we are trying to contact you about, which required us to place your order on hold.

Can I make changes to my SimplePrints photo book after I place my order?

We are happy to accommodate changes to your order when possible, however we maintain a very quick turnaround time in order to honor our expected delivery times. If you need to edit your book, please email us at hello@getsimpleprints.com within two hours of placing your order so we can put your order on hold prior to printing your photo book.

Do you offer express or expedited shipping?

If you need your SimplePrints photo book sooner, we can offer expedited shipping for an additional fee. For domestic US orders, you may select a different shipping option during checkout by tapping on the ‘Shipping Options’ link. If you have trouble changing the shipping method, forget to select this during checkout, or are shipping outside the United States, please email us at hello@getsimpleprints.com as soon as possible after you place your order. In most cases, we can charge the same card used for your purchase and upgrade the shipping manually on our end.

Can I ship to multiple addresses?

Absolutely! On the checkout page, simply tap the ‘Add Recipient’ button to add an additional recipient. After you save a destination, you may adjust the quantity using the plus and minus buttons on the right side of the screen.

Can I combine shipping?

While not always possible, we are happy to combine shipping upon request for our customers when we can. Please contact our customer support team at hello@getsimpleprints.com within 2 hours after you place your orders to make this request. If we are able to combine your orders, we will refund any extraneous shipping charges.

I need to change my shipping address – how do I do that?

Please contact our support team at hello@getsimpleprints.com as soon as possible to update the address on your order. Once a book ships, we typically cannot update the address and will need to wait until it is returned to us before we can try to reship it.


Payment Questions

I need to use a different credit card – how do I change it in the app?

No problem! When you’re ready to place a new order, simply delete the old card data from the checkout page and type in your new card number before submitting your payment.

Do you offer any coupons or discounts?

We offer bulk discounts for orders of 5 or more books – please contact our support team if you’re planning on making a large order! On rare occasions, we may offer a seasonal or promotional discount through direct emails to our customers. Our support team is unable to provide discounts on request and we do not honor promotions or discounts advertised on third party websites. Why is my SimplePrints order listed as a recurring charge on my statement?

We do not charge recurring payments under any circumstances – you will only be charged again if you open the app and place a new order for a book. In order to make future payments easier, our payment processor Stripe may mark your payment as recurring. This is because our payment processor cannot store your CVV number. In order for them to store your payment information so you can quickly and easily checkout without needing to re-enter all your payment details, they mark the charge as recurring so that your bank will approve subsequent charges without the CVV number. Are my payments secure? What payment methods do you accept? Can I use Paypal?

We currently accept most major credit cards. At this time we cannot accept payments through online payment systems like Paypal, Apple Pay, or Google Wallet. We work with a company called Stripe, which competes with Paypal, for payment processing. All payments processed through Stripe are run through a secure, encrypted connection. None of your payment data is stored on the SimplePrints app nor in our servers – any payment data stored by Stripe is AES-256 encrypted and is stored separately from their decryption keys and primary services.

What if I need to cancel my SimplePrints order or need a refund?

If you need to cancel your order, please email us at hello@getsimpleprints.com within two hours of placing your order. We cannot guarantee a refund for any requests received later than two hours after purchase, but we do our best to accommodate all customers.

Why don’t I see my refund on my statement?

It may take up to 5-10 business days for your bank to process a refund after we’ve submitted it, depending on your bank’s policies. If you have any questions about a charge or refund status, please contact our support team at hello@getsimpleprints.com right away for assistance.

What devices does SimplePrints work on? Can I use SimplePrints from my computer?

SimplePrints works great on iPhone, iPad, and iPod devices running iOS 9 or later. You can also use SimplePrints on Android devices running 4.0.3 and up. At this time our app is only available for mobile devices; we do not have an app for computers.

Can I use SimplePrints on more than one device?

For best results, we recommend only using our app on a single device. Our app saves in the background, so if you open it on another device you end up with two versions of your book saving to our server at the same time, which can cause errors and lost edits. If you do need to open the SimplePrints app on a new device, we recommend you force close the app on the first device before opening it on the second. When you are done using it on the second device, please force close the app again before reopening on your first device. You can click on these links to learn how to force close:

I forgot my SimplePrints password – how do I reset it?

We’re sorry you’re having trouble logging in. You may tap the Password Reset link in the app or use the following link in your web browser to request a password reset email: http://getsimpleprints.com/password_reset/

Please be sure to enter the email address you used when you registered with SimplePrints and check your spam folder for our email. Please keep in mind that if you used Facebook to sign up, you would not receive a password reset email. If you don’t receive the email within an hour and didn’t sign up with Facebook, please contact our customer support team for further assistance.

Can I have multiple accounts on one device?

SimplePrints can only store one account per device at this time. If you’ve accidently created multiple accounts, please email us at hello@getsimpleprints.com so we can merge your accounts.

How do I close my account?

Please email us at hello@getsimpleprints.com and we will close your account within 48 hours of receiving your request.
